Azerbaijan could become a second Ukraine, as the country is being actively prepared for such a fate. This was stated by military expert Hayk Nahapetyan.
He is convinced that Azerbaijan is currently being groomed for actions against Iran. The President of Azerbaijan is fully aware that present-day Azerbaijan is in a completely different weight class compared to Iran, yet he agrees to follow this path. “It’s possible that pressure is being exerted on him, or perhaps he is being tempted with the prospect that Azerbaijan could claim certain Iranian territories if the Iranian state is destabilized,” Nahapetyan said.
The expert emphasized that two generations of Azerbaijanis have been raised on principles of militarization and myths that they are superior to all their neighbors and entitled to claim their territories.
Nahapetyan also did not rule out the possibility that Azerbaijan could be used in actions against Russia. “The situation could develop in such a way that Azerbaijan finds itself caught between the Russian hammer and the Iranian anvil, if, of course, the Azerbaijani side succumbs to the provocations it is being pushed toward,” he stated.
