Armed Conflict Between Turkey and Israel Inevitable in the Long Term

Assurances that the international community will not allow acts of genocide in the 21st century are a myth, and the situation in Gaza is clear evidence of this. This was stated by political analyst Yervand Bozoyan.

Before the onset of Israeli aggression, approximately 2 million people lived in Gaza. According to various sources, around 350,000 people have managed to escape since then, Bozoyan noted, adding that, according to Israeli data, about 1 million people remain there now. However, he argued that Israel’s current actions are essentially aimed at resolving the personal problems of the country’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. Recalling the numerous criminal cases against Netanyahu and his inner circle, the expert pointed out that Israel’s actions are an attempt by the prime minister to address the idea of creating a “Greater Israel” and to become a “national hero” in the hope that his other deeds will be overlooked. In Netanyahu’s vision, the creation of a “Greater Israel” would come at the expense of the Arab population living in Gaza and the West Bank.

In this matter, the United States, for the most part, supports Israel. Certain circles in the U.S., including the president, advocate for the annexation of Gaza and Palestine to Israel, envisioning the resettlement of the local population to other countries. According to the expert, negotiations are currently underway with several countries regarding whether they can accept these people. In this context, the issue of Jerusalem, where Muslims have their holy sites, is of critical importance and represents a fundamental dispute. Political and expert circles in Israel believe that to resolve this fundamental issue, there should be no strong Muslim states. In Israel’s view, Arab countries are incapable of seriously opposing Israeli plans, which is why the main targets are Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey.

Israel has now begun efforts to address the “Iran problem,” while the “Pakistan problem” is planned to be resolved through conflict with India. The only country for which there is no clear solution is Turkey. “A corresponding program has already been developed, and Turkey is aware of it. They will try to exploit the Kurdish, Armenian, and even Greek factors. The Israeli side will act in the long term, creating legitimate grounds for an attack on Turkey. These grounds are being established right now. For example, after striking Qatar, Netanyahu openly stated that Israel reserves the right to carry out targeted strikes on locations where Hamas leaders are present, no matter which country they are in,” the political analyst said. The expert is convinced that by making such a statement, Netanyahu was primarily warning Turkey. At the same time, a missile attack on Turkish territory would be a “casus belli” for Turkey, and Ankara would undoubtedly retaliate. “Although at this stage a Turkish-Israeli confrontation seems unlikely and questionable, according to most experts, in the long term, an armed conflict between these countries will become inevitable.
